Our first guest today is Terry Lynn Schmidt author of “When Drag Racing Met Country Music: A Widow’s Journey in Rediscover”.  She is a former Opryland performer and she will share lessons in rediscovery after loss of her spouse, drag racing Hall of Famer Harry Schmidt.When they met, she was pursuing her performing career at Opryland with fellow performers Steven Curtis Chapman and Chonda Pierce, and entertaining troops with the USO overseas. He was a legend and pioneer in the NHRA drag racing industry, a Hall of Famer for his Blue Max Funny Car.

She gave up her career to marry Harry Schmidt, and raise their daughters in a fast-paced life as VIPs of the drag racing industry. But when she lost her soulmate to cancer, Terri also experienced the life-shattering loss of her own identity with him. She was left to begin a journey to rediscover herself and her faith. As she began the journey, she wrote about what she was learning and shares this with others who also have faced tremendous loss and are seeking new beginnings and renewing of their faith.
